NB - you can leave pre-searing at any time you want, but generally ppl advise you to be lvl 7-8 if your not comfy with what your doing, altho ppl do leave as soon as lvl 2-5 and have no problems.. but they know what they are doing and/or have friends to help them out post-searing. what you *SHOULD* do before you leave is make sure you have visited EVERY npc in pre-searing that offer's quest's relating you both of your professions. This way you get the maximum amount of free skills - and free skills is good! you want to get all the skills you can in pre-searing as it doesn't cost you any skill points to get, while in post-searing you either need to do tuffish quests (a lot tuffer then pre-searing quests) or pay a skill trainer in gold and a skill point to learn sills.. Pipahh - once you have unlocked a skill / rune / armor / weapon / etc it stays unlocked for pvp characters to use. doesn't matter if you then delete the roleplaying chars, if you have unlocked them with a roleplay char, they stay unlocked for you. |

Call me noob
Hi all,
Well, just a couple of questions for you all before I go pick up the game. First, let me say that I have visited many sites for GW and this has been the one most enjoyed. Now, I am not into game comparing ego trips, I do enjoy many types of games and mostly for the social part i.e. good freinds and company. I have done only a couple over a year. Eve; tight crew to acheive. Operation Flashpoint; teamwork and coop. Ok so i have no life. Im retired military and full time student. Here are the questions. 1. Tutorial; EQ2 had one of the best tuts I have come across. The npc talked and told you what to do. AO was equally coo. Does GW have a good tut? 2. Regular of collectors ed? Is there a differnce? 3. Community; are there any Over-da-hill crews formed yet and if so, can I get a recommendation on a mature guild? Nothing against young, I was once young, but would like to experince the game with those of similar goals and objectives. Holding out until you all get a wack at this one. Hope to see u all soon in game. SEA Last edited by seabeast; May 08, 2005 at 06:05 PM // 18:05.. |

How many missions are there in the Ascalon area, and how do you get to the Ruins of Syrmia mission? And after the Ascalon area is it the Northern Shiverpeaks? And one final question, what's a good level to be at during the Ruins of Syrmia mission? Because I am currently a level 9 and a half R/Me.

Is the Collector's Edition really worth buying over the regular edition? Is forking the 30 extra bucks out worth it?
Also, I've read some about the collector's edition but I have a question about it, what is the Ithas Bow? Thanks so much for whoever helps me... |

The Collecter's Edition is cool, because you get a lot of extras, including the Ithas Bow. The Ithas Bow is a high damage dealing bow that is excellent ifyour looking to be a Ranger or sub-class ranger. You also get teamspeak to actually talk with other, so it really comes down to what you want, I was highly considering getting it, but then I got a copy from a friend, but there is no HUGE gameplay difference.

How soon to participate in PvP?
Sorry if I have missed this answer. I have been looking around different threads here for awhile and still havent found a clear cut answer.
I'm just curious when you are able to begin PvP activites with a RP character? From what I can tell you have to speak with Sir Tydus and join the academy first... can someone please verify this? TIA p.s. I have been having a blast playing in the PvE sections of the world and am only L-7 W/Mo so I dont wanna leave too early to join the academy! -Mud |

Ok...well, if you're playing a cooperative mission - let's say, you're making the trip to Yak's Bend with other players who need to get there and need your help to get them there - then it will probably be a problem just leaving the game, especially if you're so near to finishing the mission. However, most are just like you; They, as well, have a life and need to go AFK sometimes. At a point in the game where you know you can take a break, just tell them you need to go AFK real quick. Most will wait, some will carry on to finish the mission.
I will say that when you're in a co-op mission, it is more difficult to just get up and go afk as in other online RPGs I've played. What you might want to do is start a mission with some NPC henchmen. That way if you need to leave the mission ASAP you won't piss anyone off. BTW....this game is VERY addictive. Sure, it's easy to step in casually play. But you may find yourself - after being offline for a bit - wanting to jump back on. It is also as FUN as is it ADDICTIVE. I'm actually looking forward to the first expansion set. |

Nolani
What comes after the Nolani Academy mission? Is it the Northern Shiverpeaks, if not how many missions are there until come to the Shiverpeaks? Because I really want to get out of Ascalon. It's way to dreary. Another question, I'm level 10 is that a good level to head through Nolani, or should I level up?

Nolani is the last mission in Ascalon.
;D - As for loots, there's no way to change loot drop settings. I'm not even sure how drops are determined. |

Hello all. Although I've played WoW & ROSE, I'm new to this game. Although the graphics are amazing, the character building is very good & the combat is engaging.. I gotta tell you.. I'm kinda confused on how this game runs..
I'm not a huge RPG guy, but there are some things I love about them: build up your character (not necessarily leveling) and building/earing new/better weapons & armour. I love saving up $ and meterials to be able to make a cool new sword or a neat Robe. It's like a goal among goals, very fun. I also love exploring. Seeing new places, making it past hordes and bosses to get somehwere new. (possilbly a place with better items! =P) But in GW, it is very different. The town I started at had VERY few vendors and the items were near useless since I found just about all of them in an hour of fighting. (BTW that's my other issue= you get WAY too many weapons from enemies. It takes the fun out of the rare "Ooo! a new BOW!") Anyways, I wanted to know a few things: Are there a lot of items and shops and special crafters & such? Have I simply not reached them yet? Are there a lot of aspects to building up your character? (I know there are only 20 levels) but are there a lot of skills, Spells, abilities, clothes, pets, mounts etc..?? Is the world big? like WoW size? what the heck is "pre-searing"??? Thankyoooouu Beatrooooot!!! |

is there a command in GW that will allow me to search for a player to see if they are online or whatever? Is there a friend list?

I've been playing for about a week, and the only thing I'm still confused about is the Hall of Heroes announcements. If one continent has "the favor of the gods," what does that actually mean, and who does it affect? Does it only affect the guilds fighting in the Hall of Heroes, or does the whole country get some small boost?

My guild is RP only at the moment and don't want to do a lot of PVP right now, but we want a guild hall, and we can't get one since none of the sigil traders on the islands have a celestial sigil (no one in the guild is much farther then lions arch at the moment). so how can we get a guild hall?
